Department of Civil law

The Department research is “The problems of civil legal regulation of property relations and their protection in the conditions of market economy”.

This topic was approved by the Academic Council of Syktyvkar State University on the 25th of June in 2012.

Department’s partnership
The Department has multilateral relations with different ministries, departments and organizations of Syktyvkar (the Komi Republic), including Office of the Federal Bailiff Service of the Komi Republic, Trusteeship Office of Agency for Social Development of the Komi Republic, Arbitration court of the Komi Republic, the Russian Association of Lawyers and etc.

Also the Department of Civil law works in close partnership with different Russian and European Universities, such as The Pavol Jozef Šafárik University in Košice (Slovakia), Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv (Ukraine), Saint Petersburg State University (Russia), Kazan (Volga region) Federal University (Russia), Belgorod State University (Russia). Moreover, every year professors of Syktyvkar State University give lectures in other universities and take participation in the different scientific conferences.

Our objectives:
1. Methodical work (activity): basic courses and the most actual specific courses in the Department research;
2. Training highly qualified specialists who are broad-minded and competent in the different spheres;
3. Paying attention to the scientific work of students, who always take part in all-Russian and international conferences, write course works and final qualifying works, prepare different articles for publications and etc. Furthermore, a lot of students of Syktyvkar State University are participants of Civil law Club.
At the Department research is carried out within a wide variety of subjects. Legal issues pertaining to Civil law and procedure are a priority subject in our research.

Civil law Club:
One of the main goals of our Club is a discussion of the most actual topics in Civil law and close areas of law. We cooperate with jurists for extension of the students’ and graduate students’ theoretical and practical knowledge in Civil law.
Club’s meetings take place at least 2 times per month. At these meetings the specialists and students of Institute of History and Law of Syktyvkar State University make their speeches, discuss interesting topics and conduct debates.
